Anti-Spam Bot Features

Hello and thanks in advance for you help and advice.

I am trying to set-up the anti-spam bot features, but it never seems to work. When I go to the registration page, after setting it up there is a request to enter a confirmation code. However, not entering one, still allows registration. I have tried using the Q&A, Captcha, etc... but none of them see to open up on the registration page.

I have the registration set to admin approval, so it is preventing the bots from getting on the site. Unfortunately, it is time consuming deleting them all.

I am running version 3.0.10. and the style is BlackBoxRed.

Any help you provide will be greatly appreciated.
